Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The documentary “Agent Mole” is powerful because it makes people, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, feel something remarkably similar, and I would describe that feeling very succinctly as: “I need to call my mom.” In our show, we tried to strike a similar tone: Basically, does our show promote the feeling of wanting to call our moms?
