Christmas silence takes over the small town, but the Christmas market is bustling with activity. Mariann finds a teddy bear on the top shelf. Is he alive? Mariann must get the teddy bear no matter what. But Teddy wants to get to the rich family. I loved the atmosphere, the characters, and the way the families loved and supported each other. The film was set in Norway, which was refreshing in a sea of overly politically correct abuse. The middle part is a little slow, but it’s not bad. Yes, the production isn’t Hollywood and the actors seem like your neighbors, but that’s the beauty of this film. It’s not bombastic, it doesn’t smother the message down your throat, it’s not obnoxiously oversweet like most Christmas films these days. It’s just an interesting, intelligent, beautifully made story that stays with you. I loved every minute of it.
