A TV series adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodges is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first portrayed him on screen in the 1997 film Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in the 2012 film Alex Cross, which was a box office flop and led Lionsgate to cancel a planned sequel, Double Cross.
But the series waxes and wanes with an extended 8-episode run that doesn’t justify its length

Ryan Eggold, Samantha Vox, and Isaiah Mustafa shine in their supporting roles, while Eloise Mumford and Karen Robinson steal the show from Ald Hodge’s stunning lead
If only creator Ben Watkins had written the script more tightly and focused on the investigative elements rather than the main character’s personal struggles, this could have been a groundbreaking series.
Watchable, but don’t expect “Reacher” or “Sugar” levels
